To Haul a Ship Over an Impossibly Steep Hill
Videoinstallation 2005-2006
animation based on drawings
projection with two high volume projectors at a high resolution, of approx. 3 x 5m,
3 sec. sequence, looped with incidental stops, create intermittent still images.
exhibition view: “Förderpreis für Bildende Kunst Bremen” - The fine art advancement award of the City of Bremen

The images of this short film sequence are produced by patterns made of narrow lines. Depending on the density of the lines, dark or light parts appear in the picture. The form is a result of the ornament that has been used. The image appears casually from the ornaments by modifying the ornament patterns. I draw an exact pattern for a designated area in the picture.
