Table Tools - Ceramics and Food
Februar 26 – Mai 26, 2016 Entretempo Kitchen Gallery Part of the exhibition: Visual Essay "Fermenting Time" (Michael Fesca, Amadeus Lindemann) about the workshop Fermentation and Fooddesign by Michael Fesca und Tainá Guedes with the 10 participants of the exhibition. The exhibition is the result of the project „Table Tools“, initiated and supervised by Prof. Barbara Schmidt, where the students, together with Entretempo’s curator Tainá Guedes and curator Michael Fesca, started by developing an edible micro-universe based on fermentation. Results of the four-month experimental design project are, among others, fermentation equipment for the modern kitchen, a fridge, which works without electricity, and porcelain surfaces which reveal the aesthetic potential of sauces or dancing stacked dishes. During the winter semester of 2015/16 10 students of the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee experimentally examined the possibility of developing vessels and tools in a way to keep the tradition of ceramics and take it further. In the beginning, industrial and digital methods of the ceramic production, dishes and drinks produced with fermentation were elaborated under the concept „Eating the Universe“ for a one day exhibition. In the course of the project students examined various methods to enhance the potential of ceramics and enjoy meals and drinks using their own creations. From February till May 2016 the results of the projects will be presented at Entretempo Kitchen Gallery. During the exhibition once per month a new focus will be set on particular works, following a dining experience hosted by the students. Artists: Alexandre Bailly, Maximilian Bellinghausen, Nicole Dietz, Simon Ertl, Tanguy Fraiture, Janis Gildeins, Lilith Habisreutinger, Henrik Hjort, Qianyu Zhu, Bruno Ziebell Project management/Project support: Prof. Barbara Schmidt, Tainá Guedes, Michael Fesca. In collaboration with Kunsthochschule Weissensee. Friendly supported by KAHLA/Thüringen Porzellan GmbH. |

JOKEBOOK
Bureau for Paradoxical Relations (Anna Bromley, Michael Fesca, Teena Lange, Suza Husse, Jana Sotzko) Book design: studio stg Cover photo: Bureau of Paradoxical Relations, installation by Sol Calero When jokes are cracked, the seriousness of the situation temporarily takes a back seat. Either that or things get really serious. A hearty laugh confounds the normative and can, at least for a time, relax or heighten tension and mix up the familiar. In a series of essays, conversations, poems, pictures and commentaries, the Jokebook addresses topographic markings in areas of this amusing resistance. It is about self-deprecating complicities, about becoming unreadable, about the absurd and the dysfunctional, about responsibility, but also about the entertaining and its seductive power. ISBN: 978-3-938515-60-0 Publisher: nGbK With picture and text contributions by: Oreet Ashery, Paola Bonino, Preciosa De Joya, Jonas Engelmann, Amit Epstein, Elisabeth Fritz, Christopher Kline, Wilhelm Klotzek, Eve Massacre, Gin Müller, Monika Rinck, Isabel de Sena, Oxana Timofeeva, as well as the Bureau team: Anna Bromley, Michael Fesca, Suza Husse, Teena Lange and Jana Sotzko, comments by among others Jonathan Garnham, Thembinkosi Goniwe, Yacouba Konaté und Nana Orofiatta-Ayim. |

LAUTSTROM #47, Taktökonomie
Radiofeature 59 min. (German) Michael Fesca meets Eske Bockelmann. Feature about the thesis of Eske Bockelman' book "Im Takt des Geldes". He argues that the Western concept of rhythm, which is laid out on the basis of a pulse, can be compared with our modern financial system and rised at the same time in the starting seventeenth century! At that time money gets a abstract value, which is not chained anymore to the real material object. Like the pulse, which can be filled with any style of rhythmic structur and melodie, money gets a value in itself, which can be traded. |

Lautstrom #33:„Kommando Otl Aicher“, Radiofeature on reboot.fm am 1. Sept. 2013 (German)
As I found Alexander Negrellis book "Kommando Otl Aicher" (German/English) at the Motto bookshop in Kreuzberg, I immediately invited him for a feature on LAUTSTROM. In LAUTSTROM #33 I talk with Alexander Negrelli about the Corporate Identity of the Olympic Games 1972 in Munich, about terrorists, their design, about war, gold medals, films, sneakers, politics, maps, architecture, logos, pictograms and colored dogs. Nethertheless about Otl Aicher, one of the most formative designers in West Germany and developer of the Corporate Identity. Aicher was from 1967-72 the designer of the Olympic Games in Munich with a really complet concept of appearance. Accidentallyg the Palestinian "Schwarze September" had also a clever Corporate Identity. Lautstrom on reboot.fm |
